BS6 TVS Jupiter receives price hike

The TVS Motor Company has boosted BS6 Jupiter series prices in India by Rs 1,040, indicating that the brand will now be available at a starting price of Rs 63,102. The ZX version is rated at Rs 65,102, although you are set back by Rs 69,602 for the top-spec Classic model.

This is the second price hike we’ve seen following the launch of the BS6 TVS Jupiter, the last one in the month of June 2020. The price hike was a little above Rs 600 back then, but this time around it is almost double of that. This goes to demonstrate that the changes to the BS6 have culminated in higher production costs in producing scooters, and that the responsibility needs to be passed on to the consumer. We’ve also seen a related wave of price increases from other two-wheeler makers in recent months as well.

There are no improvements to the BS6 TVS Jupiter, in addition to the demand hike. To summarize, the Jupiter BS6 TVS is powered by an air-cooled 110cc, single-cylinder engine that develops 7.3hp and 8.4Nm torque. It gets the ET-Fi (Eco Thrust Fuel Injection) system from TVS and TVS claims that the new engine delivers fuel economy 15 per cent higher. As normal, the Classic model offers a USB port, a tinted visor and a backrest.
